A Pine Bluff woman previously convicted of a felony was arrested Monday after she allegedly admitted to taking a wallet from a customer at the Saracen Casino.

Police also found a gun in the vehicle Crystal Nelson, 41, arrived at the casino in, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Cason said during a court hearing Wednesday.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Chris Wieland, Carson said officers were sent to the casino in response to a reported theft.

Wieland reported that police were called back to the casino in the early morning hours because Nelson had returned.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Nelson, who Carson said had been convicted of a felony in 2001, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with theft of property and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Nelson said she would hire her own attorney.
