With the first week of school in the books, Jerry Guess, the Superintendent of the Watson Chapel School District said Monday that there are a lot of things to attend to during that first week, including students still registering and schedules changing. In addition, Guess said the week also marked the introduction of virtual or blended learning to go along with in-class instruction.

Appearing on the Oldies 101.3 morning show, Guess was asked about the number of students who chose to learn virtually verses the number who chose to go to class.

Guess said the number of students who are going to class is increasing every day as students are beginning to feel more comfortable with the situation and he expects the numbers for virtual verses in-school to reach about 50 percent each.

He was also asked how students on campus were doing in following social distancing requirements and wearing masks.
