The Watson Chapel School District hosted a special school board meeting Monday, May 24th to discuss teacher bonuses, various resignations, and new hires.

Superintendent Jerry Guess called the meeting after various conversations about offering teachers bonus pay throughout the school district and endorsed a one-time $1,000 bonus,

All members of the board agreed to the bonus which will be distributed on June 3rd to all of the contracted employees in the district.

Also on the agenda were a few resignations that they approved along with the hire of four new employees that were present at the meeting. The board also recognized their new board member Christopher Dutton who was present on the board for his first time.

The Watson Chapel school district is still in session with the last day of school scheduled for Thursday, June 3rd.
