Watson Chapel High School student recognized at board meeting

At the most recent Watson Chapel School Board meeting on Monday, August 9, the board acknowledged Keiren Winter as their first monthly Wildcat Warrior. Winter, 16, is one of seven students from Arkansas that will be recognized on August 12 at the State Board of Education meeting.

Winter is the only semi-finalist in the high school division and is also a winner among college students in the State Educator Rising Moment Competition. On the local level, Winter won first place and will advance to the second round of the competition at the state in which he became a semi-finalist winner. In order to achieve this, he completed a 3-minute speech about why he wanted to be an educator.

The board recognized and congratulated Winter on his accomplishments. Winter presented his winning speech to the board explaining why he wanted to become an educator.
