The City of Pine Bluff is hosting a job fair on Thursday, April 21st from 9 am until 2 pm at the Pine Bluff convention center. Mayor Shirley Washington joined Floyd Donald’s Talk Back Live show on 99.3 The Beat, and she explained why the city decided to host the fair.
Washington stated that the city wants the community to know that there are jobs available in Pine Bluff including jobs that come with benefits. She went on to explain that they have 49 employers that will be present at the fair and the kind of workers they are looking to attract.
In reference to Union Pacific returning to Pine Bluff, Washington explained that they are reaching out to them to participate in the fair but that has not been confirmed.
Washington also commented on the number of individuals that commute in and out of Pine Bluff and the importance of obtaining workers that live in Pine Bluff.
