A news release that was issued said that there were a dozen tanker cars involved, and there were no hazardous materials and nothing leaking from the train tanker cars. The cause of the derailment is unknown, and there are no reported injuries at the moment.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a Union Pacific freight train derailed at around 9 p.m. Saturday at the Gaddy Koonce Road crossing in Jefferson County.

The news release also reported that “it was reported that a derailment happened at this exact location in October 2014. Equipment and clean-up crews are on their way from Star City and Memphis to assist with the clean-up. The railroad crossing at Highway 54 is closed until the unaffected parts of the train can be moved and the Gaddy Koonce Road crossing is closed until further notice.
