PINE BLUFF, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s basketball team kept Alcorn State to just 13.3 percent from 3-point range in a 2-for-15 shooting performance on the way to an 80-57 win over the Braves at home Saturday.

The Golden Lions (13-10, 8-2) had three players score in double figures, led by Zaay Green, who secured a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Maya Peat tacked on 12 points and eight rebounds and Coriah Beck helped out with 11 points and four assists.

Peat pulled down four offensive rebounds to lead an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for UAPB, grabbing 17 boards and turning them into 19 second chance points.

UAPB’s defense held Alcorn State to only 13.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc and 40 percent from the field. The Braves did not have much luck cleaning up their misses on the offensive glass either, as they finished with seven offensive rebounds and managed six second chance points while UAPB cleared 27 defensive rebounds.
