UAPB Track And Field: Snowden and Fyffe Win Field Events In Bobcat Invitational At Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas –  The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff track and field team continues to dive into the outdoor season after a solid outing in the Bobcats Invitational at Texas State.

Caleb Snowden came out on top in the men’s high jump with a distance of 2.12 meters to claim first place honors for UAPB, his second high jump victory this outdoor season. Deandre Fyffe won the men’s shotput with a throw of 16.15 meters, his first shotput win this season.

In the men’s 800 meter run, Genesis Joseph placed sixth with a time of 1:50.74. Lady Lion Kris-Ann Plummer finished 2:14.54 in the 800 meter run.

Two teams finished the 4 X 400 relay run in the top-five. In the women’s relay, the team of Cheriece Cope, Raina Perry, Shaunia McFarlane, and Kris-Ann Plummer finished second place with a time of 3:48.15, and the team of Ryan Longmire, Ross Walrond, Mohamed Soumare, and Genesis Joseph finish fifth place in the men’s relay with a time 3:13.78.

UAPB will travel up the road to Little Rock for the UALR Invitational on April 7-8.
