UAPB STUDENT-ATHLETES THRIVE IN FALL SEMESTER WITH A 3.12 OVERALL GPA

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff athletic department finished the Fall 2021 academic semester with a department grade point average of 3.12.

The Golden Lions had 22 student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 177 student-athletes achieved athletic honor roll after recording a 3.0 or better. UAPB had 88 student-athletes who made the Dean’s List of achieving 3.5 or better, and 73 student-athletes achieved the athletic honor roll after recording a 3.0 or better for the Fall semester.

Four teams had a Fall 2021 team GPA of 3.5 or better including women’s cross country (3.80), Golf (3.58), men’s cross country (3.52), and women’s track & field (3.51).

“Our student-athletes continue to achieve amazing results in the classroom,” said Associate AD for Academics Kyle Hartsfield. “Giving their time commitment to athletics and the amount distraction they face while being student-athletes, their academic success it truly something we should be proud of as coaches, staff, faculty and students.”

Christopher McCoy women’s cross country led all programs on the women’s side, followed by women’s track & field, softball, soccer, volleyball, and women’s basketball.

On the men’s side, Roger Totten‘s golf team finished on top for the second consecutive semester, followed by men’s cross country, men’s track & field, baseball, football, and men’s basketball.

11 out of 12 teams posted a Fall GPA of 3.0 or better, including women’s cross country (3.80), golf (3.58), men’s cross country (3.52), women’s track & field (3.51), softball (3.35), soccer (3.30), men’s track & field (3.24), volleyball (3.27), baseball (3.12), women’s basketball (3.00), football (3.00), men’s basketball (2.80).
