UAPB Soccer Shutout Alabama A&M 1-0 At Home Behind Musungu’s Go Ahead Goal

PINE BLUFF, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s soccer team claimed a shutout over Alabama A&M 1-0 at home on Friday afternoon.
Lady Lions improved to 2-1 in conference play on the season following the win. This is the first time since the 2016 season that the Lady Lions have defeated Alabama A&M, and first time since 2015 to do it at home.

How it Happened

UAPB took a 1-0 lead when Brisha Munsungu scored her fourth goal of the season in the 52nd minute on a free kick. The Lady Lions stood their ground defensively and didn’t allow Alabama A&M to score another goal and the game ended with the 1-0 score.

Game Notes

  • Makaila Riedel collected six saves for the Lady Lions out of seven total Texans shots.
  • Ark.-Pine Bluff recorded six shots on goal.
