UAPB Soccer: Hicks Earns Preseason All-SWAC Honors

Pine Bluff, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s soccer team, for the fourth consecutive season under head coach Erik Solberg, had a player named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Conference teams, announced by the league Wednesday morning. Junior Iyanah Hicks leads the charge for the Lady Lions as the lone second-team selection for the upcoming season.

Hicks played in over 1500 minutes in the 2022 season, adding seven goals, seven assists, 39 shots, 20 shots on goal and totaling 21 points for an outstanding stat line. Hicks was third on the team in goals made, shots on goals, game winning goals, and total points, second in assists and shot percentage, and first in shots on goals percentage.

In the SWAC, she ranked fourth in assists, sixth in shots, goals, and total points, and eighth in shots on goal.

Hicks scored three goals on three shots for a perfect percentage and an assist to pace the Lady Lions against Mississippi Valley State as one of her biggest highlights of the season.
