UAPB Soccer Extend Win Streak to Three Games; Shutout Alabama State 3-0 at Home
PINE BLUFF, AR — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff held Alabama St. scoreless and cruised to a 3-0 shutout win Sunday at home at Pumphrey Stadium.
The Lady Lions move to 3-1 in SWAC play after the victory, which is also the first win against Alabama State since the 2019 season.
How it Happened
Ark.-Pine Bluff started the scoring when Iyanah Hicks scored her sixth goal of the season in the 17th minute, assisted by Madison Hernanadez.
The Lady Lions grabbed a 2-0 advantage on a goal from Yiselle Bernal — her seventh goal of the season — on a free kick in the 25th minute.
Ark.-Pine Bluff made it a 3-0 advantage on Abbey Glover’s 65th-minute goal, her second of the season. Hernanadez assisted the goal. Neither team scored again in the game.
