UAPB Men’s Basketball: Kylen Milton and Joe French Named Preseason All-Conference

PINE BLUFF, AR. – Standout junior Kylen Milton and senior Joe French represented the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball program on the Southwestern Athletics Conference Preseason All-Conference team announced Wednesday morning at the SWAC Media Day held in Houston, Texas.

A Monticello, AR., native, Milton was named to the Preseason All-Conference First-Team, is a 6’4 physical guard who can play both guard positions on the court and can create his shots. Milton is known for his toughness, averaged 13.2 ppg and 4.1 rpg last season for the Golden Lions. Milton scored a season-high 23 points against Mississippi Valley St.

“Kylen has made great strides in his improvement over his career, and this selection is a great testament to his growth and his work,” said head coach Solomon Bozeman.  “He returns with a wealth of experience and will be a key provider as a scorer and playmaker. He will also be huge for us using his athletic gifts as a primary defender and rebounder.”

French, a native of Orlando, Florida, who transferred from Bethune-Cookman was named preseason All-Conference Second-Team and was named Preseason Newcomer Player of the Year in 2022. French, a playmaker with an impressive range from behind the arch, will add to the talent UAPB brings for the 2023 season. French averaged 9.8 ppg last season, scoring a career-high 31 points against Mississippi Valley St.

“Joe has had a major presence in this conference for years, and this honor is a representation of the gravity that he possesses as a player,” said Bozeman. “We are very excited to have Joe, and he will be a pivotal part of our program. His ability as a shooter and complete scorer will be a tremendous addition to us this year.”
