UAPB Golf: Golden Lions Wraps Up Play at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational

NAPA, Calif. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s golf team was among the select few teams invited to participate in the first-ever Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational held at the Silverado Resort.

Despite facing a highly competitive field, the Golden Lions managed to secure the 11th position in the 54-hole tournament with a score of 916. BYU emerged as the winners of the invitational.

Jose Berenguel was the standout performer for the Golden Lions, finishing tied for 17th place out of a field of 64 players. He shot a score of 4-over par 220 (73-75-72). Ismael Garcia, with a score of 229 (75-78-77), finished tied for 45th place, followed by Angel Perez who tied for 53rd with a score of 233 (76-80-77). Timur Alalin and Li Su placed tied at 58th and 60th respectively with scores of 237 (81-79-77) and 239 (78-81-80).

The UAPB golf team will be back in action on Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9, competing in the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at the Hermitage Golf Course in Hermitage, TN.
