The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff head baseball coach Carlos James announced the addition of right-handed pitcher Randy Little Jr. to the 2023 roster.

A Pine Bluff native, Little Jr. was a standout for Watson Chapel High School, earning All-Conference and All-State selections during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

“I chose UAPB because I felt like it would be a great opportunity for me to play with and against great competition to better my skill,” Little Jr. on why he chose UAPB. “I had several offers but UAPB reached out multiple times to make sure I felt wanted and they made sure I was taken care of. Another big bonus is that I will be competing in my hometown in front of family and friends.”

Little Jr. spent his first two at the University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain. This past season, he improved on the mound from the previous year with a 4-1 record, retiring 38 batters in 34.2 innings pitched while maintaining a 2.86 ERA.

“The strengthening program at Rich Mountain got me a lot stronger and helped me develop my velocity,” Little Jr. said. “I plan to bring another arm to the team to compete to the best of my ability, and go after guys and win some games. I want to help this team be twice the team they were before.”
