UAPB 870 COMMUNITY ROAR JAM FEST IS SET FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 20

PINE BLUFF, AR. – As kickoff for football season draws closer, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff athletics department announced a date for the 2023 edition of “870 Community Roar Jam Fest” sponsored by Super 1 Foods, Dollar General, NYSFL, What’s Next PB, First Ward Living Grace, and Pine Bluff Corvette Club.

Pick up the official 2023 UAPB football season poster, and Arkansas’ best food trucks will be stationed with sandwiches, wings, and more, while free-to-play carnival games and inflatable obstacle courses are set to be in place.

Roar Jam Fest allows Golden Lions Nation to interact with student-athletes and coaches during an autograph session on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Simmons Bank Field from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. The Jam Fest will feature UAPB’s football, volleyball, soccer, golf and men’s & women’s basketball, men’s & women’s cross country, men’s & women’s track & field, baseball, softball, UAPB cheerleaders, and the M4 band.

The event is free and open to the public.

There will be a meet-and-greet with UAPB student-athletes, a fall and spring sports signing session, free haircuts for the youth, school supply drive, football season ticket raffle, and free food (Super 1 Foods) for all (while supplies last). Fans of all ages will also have opportunities to play interactive games and activities with Golden Lions student-athletes.

Lion Cub Club members will receive exclusive early access starting at 12:45 p.m. The general public will enter 15 minutes later at 1:00 p.m. The Fan Day festivities will conclude at 4 p.m. Lions Cub Club memberships are still available for the upcoming season.

The Golden Lions soccer and volleyball will begin competition next week. The soccer team will be on the road against Tougaloo College Thursday, Aug. 17, followed by volleyball with an exhibition matchup against Monticello Sat Aug. 19. The Golden Lions football team will kick off their season Thursday Aug. 31. at Tulsa, and men’s and women’s cross country will open up at the UCA & Sugar Bear XC.
