RISON – Last December, former Rison Wildcat and NFL player Tyrell Johnson said the Lord laid on his heart to take the next step and start living out his faith by helping others.

That journey began by leading him to begin reaching out to the homeless in the Little Rock area and taking his message of encouraging others to put feet to their faith through his Faith Works Foundation.

This week, Johnson will be bringing that message to Rison with his “Spread the Love Festival” that will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. this Saturday, July 28, at Powell Park.

There is no admission to attend, but Johnson is encouraging people to bring non-perishable food items to the festival that will be given away during the festival to anyone in need.

The event includes several activities for both youth and adults, ranging from kick ball and relay races to “Minute 2 Win It” contests and bouncy houses for the kids. There will be entertainment on hand, and Johnson will be accepting donations for a drawing for $25 Walmart gift cards.

Vendor spaces are available for $25. All proceeds from the event benefit the Faith Works Foundation.
