A Dermott couple was killed and a Hamburg man injured in a two-vehicle accident in Southeast Arkansas Tuesday morning.

According to s preliminary report, Thomas Trigg, 70, was southbound on Arkansas 165 when the 2020 Cadillac he was driving crossed the center line and into the northbound lane where it struck the front of  a 2018 Chevrolet driven by Christopher Moffatt, 31, of Hamburg.

Trigg and a passenger in his car, Janet Trigg, 68, also of Dermott were killed and Moffat was injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital at Pine Bluff for treatment.

According to the report, the highway was we when the accident was reported at 6:42 a.m.

The two deaths bring to 563 the number of people killed on the state’s highways so far this year.
