A Dallas County man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday and a juvenile died in a Sunday accident in rural Ashley County.
According to preliminary reports from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Mark W. Rucker, 57, of Sparkman died when the motorcycle he was riding left the roadway in rural Dallas County and went into a ditch. Rucker was thrown off the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The juvenile, who was not identified, was killed Sunday when the motorcycle the juvenile was riding apparently had some sort of mechanical issues and began turning end over end. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the westbound lane of Arkansas Highway 189 at Ashley County Road 495.
The deaths bring to 434 the number of people killed on the state’s highways so far this year.
