As voters go to the polls today to decide the fate of extending the five-eights cent Go Forward sales tax for another seven years and adopting an additional three-eights cent tax devoted to public safety, State Senator Stephanie Flowers had some thoughts on people who have voiced opposition to continuing the tax.

Appearing on the Oldies 101.3 morning show, Flowers said this.

Flowers said although people refer to the tax as the Go Forward sales tax but in reality, it is not the Go Forward sales tax but is the City of Pine Bluff sales tax.

She went on to say that Go Forward Pine Bluff came up with ideas and presented proposals that would address some of the issues the city is faced with and everybody should agree that we have a lot of issues that we’re faced with.

Flowers also talked about some of the untruths that opponents have used to encouraged people to vote against the tax.
