Jefferson County Sheriff Leads Petition to Induct Monte Coleman into Pro Football Hall of Fame

Following the death of former UAPB head football coach and multi-time Super Bowl champion Monte Coleman over the weekend, tributes have poured in from across the country honoring one of Pine Bluff’s most respected figures.

Now, Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. is helping to lead an effort to have Coleman inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Woods spoke with Floyd Donald about the initiative and what inspired him to get involved.

Woods said the petition had been circulating prior to Coleman’s death over the weekend and was not initiated in response to his passing.
