Dallas County Sheriff Mike Knoedel Releases Report on Drug Seizure and Court Docket

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Knoedel reported that a traffic stop last week led to the seizure of multiple quantities of suspected illegal drugs following a vehicle search and tow.

Deputies initially found 21 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 1.6 grams of suspected cocaine during the stop. After the vehicle was impounded, a more thorough search uncovered an additional 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and approximately one ounce of marijuana.

Authorities said the drugs were hidden in multiple compartments throughout the vehicle.

Circuit Criminal Court held its monthly docket this week, resulting in several guilty pleas and sentences across a range of felony cases.

Christopher Jackson pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and received five years of probation along with fines, costs and fees.

Justin Smith received a five-day jail sanction for contempt.

George McCoy pleaded guilty to DWI fifth offense and obstructing governmental operations and was sentenced to three years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, along with court costs and fees.

Joshua McDonald reached a plea agreement and pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to three years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Javonte Rochelle pleaded guilty to fleeing causing serious injury, tampering with physical evidence, reckless driving and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.

He was sentenced to two years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and six years suspended imposition of sentence.

Samantha Knight pleaded guilty to breaking or entering and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and was sentenced to the Arkansas State Police program along with court fees.

Cindy Smith pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug premises. She was sentenced to 15 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections on the primary count, along with six years SIS on a second count and nine years SIS on a third count, in addition to court costs and fees.

Dameon Martin pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug premises. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with additional suspended sentences totaling 35 years across multiple counts. His prison time will run consecutively, according to court officials.

Reginald Canady pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and cocaine with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug premises. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and additional suspended sentences, with his prison terms ordered to run concurrently along with fines and costs.

Frank Delgado pleaded guilty to possession or use of child sexual abuse material and received 20 years suspended imposition of sentence, a $10,000 fine and court costs.

Nicholas Robinson pleaded guilty to two counts of sex offender failure to register and entered a plea of true to a probation revocation. His sentencing will be addressed at the next criminal docket call scheduled for July 15.

J’Kvon Cones reached a plea agreement and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of possession of an instrument of crime and received one year suspended imposition of sentence, along with court costs and fees.

Candida Weathers pleaded guilty to possession of Schedule I and II controlled substances (methamphetamine and cocaine), possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. She was sentenced to the Arkansas State Police program along with court costs and fees.

John B. Miller pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by certain persons and received three years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, along with court costs and fees.

Officials noted the docket included only cases that were adjudicated, adding that more than three times as many cases remain pending trial or disposition.

Law enforcement also released a “Felony Friday” list of individuals facing charges across multiple jurisdictions, including Fordyce, Sparkman, Thornton, Bearden and Carthage.

Charges listed include battery in the third degree, assault in the third degree, criminal trespass, driving while intoxicated, driving while license cancelled, suspended or revoked, no driver’s license, no liability insurance, probation or parole warrants, failure to comply, violation of bond conditions, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and abuse of an adult.

The individuals listed are Sebastion Cochran of Fordyce; Gilberto Pantaleon of Sparkman; Demaria Cooper of Thornton; Frankie Chavers of Bearden; Shanetta Childs and Joshua Jones of Fordyce; Kristi Johnson of Bearden; and Dejuan Poole of Carthage.
