A Dallas County man was killed in a two-vehicle traffic accident in Fordyce Sunday morning.
According to a preliminary report, Lamarrieo M. Hughes, 33, of Sparkman was northbound on U.S. 79 when the 2011 Ford Mustang he was driving collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer that was making a left turn from the outside lane to the median crossover to travel south.
Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene and the drive of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
The accident was reported at 5:15 a.m. and the death was the 516th so far this year on the state’s highways.
