The Board of Trustees of Southeast Arkansas College will be seeking more information before beginning the search for a new college president following the resignation of current President Dr. Steven Bloomberg.

The Board met Thursday and following a 90-minure executive session, Board chair Rebecca Pittillo announced that there was no action taken or action needed.

She said the board will reach out to the Association of Community College Trustees who will help with the initial search.

Bloomberg who has been at SEARK since 2016 will leave in mid-February and Pattillo was asked her reaction to him leaving.

She was also asked what the board will be looking for in its next president.

At its meeting in January, the board is expected to name an acting president.
