Last Monday, the Jefferson County Quorum Court approved a just over $35 million budget for 2023 by a vote of 12 to 1.
Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday and was asked about the budget for his department.
Woods said nothing he asked for was fluff and was “what the department needed to operate.”
Morning show host Greg Horne asked Woods if the 2023 budget for his department was an increase or a decrease from the 2022 budget and if so how much.
