A new garbage truck and upgraded new pipes for sewer lines are just some of the projects that Sheridan has used money from the federal government for pandemic relief for.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, Mayor Joe Wise said the current garbage truck makes 3,000 stops a week and costs $189,000 when it was purchased.

Sheridan received about $1 million in federal funds and Grant County got about $4 million and Wise said the city used its funds for projects, so they did not haves to find a new source of revenue.

In addition to the new garbage truck and sewer pipes, the mayor said money will be used to improve Gum Street to reduce flooding.
