The Sheridan Headlight Newspaper recently highlighted the most recent December meeting of the Sheridan School Board that focused on establishing the current officers on the board and the term length for different seats on the board.

Jodi Spann was mentioned as being renamed as President of the board, Jan Caldwell is the Vice President, and Jeff Lisenby was named secretary. For the first time in the school board’s history, all seven seats are no longer voted on at large. Two seats remain at large, while zones designate the other five. The two seats at large belong to Jeremy Orman and Lisenby. Caldwell has the Zone 1 seat, Jacob Palmer has the Zone 2 seat, Wade Crosswhite is the member for Zone 3, Stan Hathcock has Zone 4, and Spann is the Zone 5 representative.

In addition to the installation of officers, specific terms were given to each of the board members. As the meeting began, the board made an update to the Sheridan School District Policies, including a change in citizen participation. Those wishing to speak to the board must notify the superintendent’s office five days prior to the meeting.

The next meeting of the board will be at 7 pm on Monday, January 9th.
