Last week, People Shores conducted a job fair in Pine Bluff but according to Allison Thompson, President and CEO of the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County, they are not the only company that is hiring.
Thompson appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and was asked about the unemployment rate, particularly since the national rate has decreased.
On another subject, Thompson said the Alliance is seeing a lot of activity from groups and companies looking to locate or relocate and the staff at the alliance is responding to requests for information and in some cases have conducted site visits with representatives of companies.
Thompson was asked if some of that activity could be attributed to companies and manufacturers who had located plants overseas but we’re now looking to come back to the states.
