Last month, Carlton Saffa of the Saracen Casino told Deltaplex News about efforts to allow sports betting in the state using an app and on Friday, Saffa appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and was asked for an update.
Saffa credited State Representative Ken Ferguson of Pine Bluff who, in Saffa’s words is “leading the way” in making the program happen, despite opposition from national companies.
“The national guys are saying if we can’t book the bets nobody can,” Saffa said, “That’s not going to last. Arkansans are going to stick together.”
Saffa went on to point out the benefits to the city and county under the system that is being set up.
