The Saracen Casino is scheduled for its great opening Tuesday morning after several days of soft openings and on Monday, several representatives of the casino were guests on the Oldies 101.3 morning show to talk about what patrons can expect.

The grant opening will be at 10 a.m. but don’t expect every gaming table to be operating at that time, Josh Silar said.

Carlton Saffa said that current plans are for the facility to shut down from 2 a.m. until 9 a.m. so that it can be cleaned in an effort to prevent COVID-19 but that is subject to change.

Saffa, who has been with the casino since the Quapaw Tribe was awarded the license to operate 16 months ago, said that getting the license was hard, and erecting the building was hard, but the hardest thing that the casino faced was staffing.

Currently, there are more than 700 people who work for the casino, and another 300 will be added late when the hotel complex is opened, with a majority of those workers from Jefferson County.

Saffa said that experts described the casino as being in a “repeater market,” that is, having a goal of getting customers to come back again and again. Silar expanded on that.

Deltaplex Radio will be broadcasting live from the casino Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
