As school is getting ready to start, parents and others are getting s break this weekend when they shop for school clothing and supplies as the annual sales tax holiday kicks in Saturday and Sunday.

That means that apparel like pants, shirts, dresses, and shoes that cost less than $100 will not be taxed. That will also apply to school uniforms, underwear, socks, and the like.

Taxes will also be exempt on accessories like handbags and purses, watches, wallets, and sunglasses as long as they have a retail value pf less than $50.

Exemptions will also apply to the purchase of school supplies and is not limited just to state sales taxes but also applies to local, county and city sales taxes.

All retailers have to participate, and articles cannot be separated in order to lower their price to under the $100 and $50 minimum.

The exemption applies to single purchase Items and not to the overall cost of everything purchased.
