A Rison man who was driving a vehicle police stopped for a traffic violation Friday was arrested on drug related charges and his passenger was arrested for being in possession of a gun that had been reported stolen.

Broderick McLeod, 33, was the driver of the vehicle and during a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Keith Hall explained that McLeod’s passenger was Joseph Collins, 34, of Pine Bluff.

Hall also told the court how Collins was involved.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $20,000 bond for McLeod after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance and a $15,000 bond for Collins on probable cause of theft by receiving a firearm. Both men were told to come back to court Sept. 22.
