Quapaw Nation Chairman Joseph Byrd looks forward to Saracen Casino soft opening

The City of Pine Bluff along with the Quapaw Nation held a ribbon cutting Wednesday for the new fire station and police precinct on the property of the Saracen Casino and Resort and Joseph Byrd, the new Quapaw Business Committee Chairman was on hand for the grand opening.

Byrd spoke with DeltaplexNews.com following the ceremony to give his thoughts on the new station and more.

There are other projects that the Quapaw Nation has helped the City of Pine Bluff with to include helping to upgrade city parks and other amenities in the city.

Byrd said that it is the intention of the Quapaw to show good will towards the City of Pine Bluff.

The Saracen Casino will hold a soft opening next week with the official grand opening being held on October 20. Byrd said the construction of the casino was challenging due to COVID-19, and said it has been an amazing experience to see it come to life.

Byrd also spoke about the reception he has received since he was sworn in as Chairman of Quapaw Nation.
