The Pine Bluff Police Department is currently testing cameras that Chief Kelvin Sergeant believes will help to reduce crime in the city.

Sergeant told Deltaplex News there are 22 cameras currently deployed in the city, but he declined to give the exact locations.

He said the company is letting the city try out the cameras, even there has been no formal agreement to purchase them. Sergeant also explained how the cameras will provide alerts and who will receive them.
