Last month, the trial of the man accused in the shooting death of Pine Bluff Police Officer Kevin Collins was rescheduled for early next year because prosecutors were unable to seat a complete jury.

On Friday, Police Chief Denise Richardson was asked about that when she appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

Morning show host Greg Horne said that inability to get a jury “was not an oddball thing” and “happens occasionally.”

Horne also said that he believed one of the reasons a jury could not be selected was because prosecutors were seeking the death penalty for Keshone Smith, the man accused of killing Collins.
