A Pine Bluff man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly threatened the mother of his child.

Trevon Byrd, 27, was taken into custody after police responded to a reported armed disturbance on South Holly Street.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Chris Wieland, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said the victim told police she was washing clothes when she and Byrd got into an altercation which turned physical. She said she got in her car to leave when the victim grabbed the door of the vehicle, then went to his vehicle where he got a gun, pointed it at her, and threatened her.

Wieland reported that two children who were in the car confirmed the victim’s story.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $15,000 bond for Byrd after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court August 22, 2023.
