UPDATE 8:55 a.m.:

The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a shooting that left one person dead.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on the morning of June 13, 2022 officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 Block of South Poplar Street.  

Officers found a juvenile male victim in the home with an apparent gunshot wound.  

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Coroner’s Office.  

Several shell casings were located and the evidence indicates the shots were fired outside the home.

At this time there are no suspects and a motive is unknown.

Because the victim in this case is a juvenile his name will not be released. His body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to officially determine cause and manner of death.

This is the 15th homicide in Pine Bluff for 2022.

The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a homicide investigation that happened early Monday morning in the 1800 block of South Poplar.

Details are limited at this time, but Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley tells Deltaplex News that his office was notified at 1:27 a.m., and the victim is a 16-year-old juvenile.

The victim will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime lab for an autopsy later today.
