Update:
On Thursday evening April 8, 2021, at about 10:20 p.m. officers were called to a pedestrian accident in the 4200 block of Highway 65 South in Pine Bluff. Upon arrival, they located the body of an adult woman on the highway and later identified the woman as Gena Liebman who was 28 and a resident of Pine Bluff.
The initial investigation indicates an SUV was traveling southbound on the highway when the collision occurred. The driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation. At this time vehicle speed and driver impairment do not appear to have been factors. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:01 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher. The collision is still under investigation. The driver was released without citations.
