Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services have been battling a Christmas Eve blaze at America’s Best Inn at 2700 East Harding.
Fire officials tell Deltaplex News that the building was at least 50% involved with flames shooting out of the roof when they arrived on scene.
At 1:35 p.m. firefighters were still battling hot spots inside of the building.
When asked if the fire may have been started by homeless citizens seeking shelter from the frigid temperatures, fire officials said they are unsure at this time and do not know the cause of the fire.
Fire officials also stated that the have not located any bodies inside of the damaged structure.
The building is believed to be a complete loss due to the fire damage.
