One person was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle accident in Ashley County Monday morning.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2008 Nissan, driven by Savannah Sivlis, 18, of Crossett was eastbound on U.S. Highway 82 approaching U.S. Highway 425 when she failed to yield and her vehicle struck the driver’s side door of a 2014 Honda driven by Kacy Lynn Wells, 24, also of Crossett that had been southbound on U.S. Highway 425 approaching Highway 82,

A minor male passenger who was in the rear of the Nissan was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by Ashley County Deputy Coroner Chris Sexton.

Wells, Silvis and a minor female passenger in her vehicle were injured and taken to the Ashley County Medical Center.

The accident was reported at 7:30 a.m. and the death was the 550th so far this year on the state’s highways.
