One person was killed and a second injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident in Garland County Monday night.

According to a preliminary report Llonson Escobar, 29, of Hot Springs was westbound on U.S. 270 and according to a witness, was swerving. The Honda Element he was driving crossed eh double yellow line and hit a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Feleasha Robinson, 44, of Hot Springs head-on.

Both drivers were taken to CHI St. Vincent Hospital at Hot Springs and Escobar died a short time later.

The accident was reported at 7:12 p.m. on U.S. 270 at Ledger Rock Road. The death was the 158th so far this year on the state’s highways.
