No. 13 Razorback Soccer Split as Favorite in Pre-season SEC Poll/Six on Watchlist

No. 13 Razorback Soccer Chosen as Co-Favorite to Top SEC Regular Season Standings | Arkansas Razorbacks

The Arkansas Soccer team has been ranked 13th in the country according to this year’s pre-season poll, and picked as co-favorites, along with #9 Texas A&M, to win this years’ SEC regular season title.

The Razorbacks went 12-4 (7-1 SEC) last season, reaching the third round of the NCAA Tournament falling to Santa Clara 2-0. The Lady Hogs have posted a 15-2-1 record the past two conference seasons, the most in program history during a two year span. During that time, Arkansas has claimed the SEC Forward of the Year in Anna Podojil – 2020, SEC Defender of the Year in Haley VanFossen – 2019, SEC Freshman of the Year Anna Podojil – 2019, and Colby Hale has been named a two-time SEC Coach of the Year. The Razorbacks have also put seven on the All-SEC First Team.

Parker Goins, Anna Podojil, Taylor Malham, and Bryana Hunter were all named to the SEC Preseason Watch List for consecutive seasons. Kayla McKeon was also named to the list following an All-SEC Second Team performance last year, after missing 2019 with an injury. Jessica De Filippo, who transferred in from Louisville in the spring was also named to the SEC Preseason Watch List. 

The Razorbacks will hit the pitch on the road to face No. 6 Duke on Thursday, Aug. 19th, and No. 3 North Carolina Sunday, Aug. 22nd.
