A Monticello man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in rural Drew County Monday afternoon.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Clifton D. Waldrup, 47, was southbound on Arkansas Highway 293 when a 2014 Dodge Ram that was also southbound struck the right rear of the motorcycle Waldrup was riding.
That caused the motorcycle to veer left and cross the northbound lane, then begin to overturn before it came to rest in the east roadside ditch on its right side.
The accident was reported at 5 p.m. in the 450 block of Highway 293 and according to the report, the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.
