The number of homicides in Pine Bluff in 2022 dropped from the number reported in previous years and on Wednesday, Mayor Shirley Washington appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show where she was asked about the police department, particularly about her decision to appoint former Chief Lloyd Franklin to the position, then when he decided to leave, select Denise Richardson to replace Franklin.
Washington then went on to talk about Richardson in this exchange with morning show host Greg Horne.
She also discussed her hopes for even fewer homicides this year.
