Beginning Fall 2026, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will launch Mane Materials, a Total Access course materials program designed to simplify how students receive their required materials and ensure they are ready to learn on the first day of class.

With Mane Materials, required course materials are automatically prepared for all students across all their courses. Digital materials are delivered directly through Blackboard, the campus learning management system (LMS), while physical materials are coordinated through the campus bookstore as applicable — eliminating delays and uncertainty at the start of the term.

“When students have their materials from day one, they can focus on learning rather than logistics,” said Dr. Bruce McGowan, Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. “This program helps create a smoother, more confident start to each semester.”

The program also supports instructional consistency by ensuring that all students in a course use the same required materials and editions.

Faculty retain full autonomy in selecting course content, including traditional materials, digital tools, or open educational resources (OER).

Students have the option to remain in the program or opt out each term, providing flexibility while maintaining a default experience centered on readiness and access.

UAPB views Mane Materials as an important step toward improving the overall academic experience and supporting student engagement from the first day of instruction.
