Election officials are reminding voters that a Special Primary Election for Arkansas State Senate District 1 will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
The election will be conducted in the same manner as a regular primary election, meaning only registered voters who reside within State Senate District 1 will be eligible to vote, and voters will cast ballots by party affiliation.
Early voting will begin Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and continue through Monday, Aug. 17 at the county courthouse. Polls on Election Day will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Election officials also reminded voters of several important deadlines. The voter registration deadline is Monday, Aug. 10, and sample ballots will be available on the Voter View website beginning that day.
Absentee ballot applications are currently available through the county clerk’s office. The designated bearer process begins Monday, Aug. 3, with a maximum of two ballots allowed for pickup. The deadline for absentee ballot applications submitted by mail, fax, or email is Tuesday, Aug. 11. Completed absentee ballots delivered in person by the voter, a designated bearer, or an administrator must be received by the county clerk’s office no later than the close of business on Friday, Aug. 14.
Only voters residing in State Senate District 1 may participate in the election.
