Jefferson Regional Medical Center has been recognized with the Southern Legacy of Life Platinum Award for its commitment to organ donation and transplantation.
According to the hospital, the recognition honors the work of its Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Operating Room teams in supporting organ donation efforts.
Hospital officials said Jefferson Regional helped make 21 lifesaving organ transplants possible through its partnership with Southern Legacy of Life, the organ procurement organization serving Arkansas.
The Platinum Award recognizes healthcare teams for their role in the organ donation and transplantation process, honoring the collaboration between hospital staff, donors and donor families that helps provide lifesaving transplants for patients in need.
