Adam Price, a student at Pine Bluff High School, has been elected Mayor of Cantrell City during the 84th annual session of Arkansas Boys State, a prestigious summer leadership and civic engagement program sponsored by the American Legion.

Price was elected by his peers on Monday, May 26, during city elections held as part of the week-long event. At Arkansas Boys State, students from across the state come together to create a mock government, which includes sixteen cities, each with their own city council and mayor.

Hosted at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, the 2025 session welcomed more than 600 high school juniors from 207 schools across Arkansas. Participants, referred to as “citizens,” are assigned to one of eight counties and sixteen cities, and they engage in realistic political processes, including campaigning, elections, and governance.

“When the week comes to a close for Adam, he and his peers will have learned what it means to intentionally and thoughtfully share their stories, lead their peers, and advocate for their communities,” said Lloyd Jackson, executive director of Arkansas Boys State.

Adam Price’s election reflects both his leadership potential and the respect he has earned among his fellow participants. His experience at Boys State will equip him with valuable insights into public service, civic responsibility, and collaborative leadership.
