A $25,000 paired bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of fleeing from the police.
Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgeforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 21-year-old Jabari Green with Felony Fleeing.
Reading from an affidavit from Detective Jesse Horton, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on May 5th of this year, that a resident was traveling south on Hazel St. when he observed a GMC Sierra Denali traveling south bound, passing multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed. At one point, the Denali came roughly 20 feet from a marked patrol unit. The officer attempted to follow him, reaching speeds of up to 90 mph.
The vehicle went northbound on Hazel, continuously ignoring traffic signals through 17th and Hazel, until it turned onto the intersection of 15th and Olive st. where one of the tires deflated which forced the vehicle to stop.
An officer took custody of the driver, later identified as Jabari Green, who was intoxicated at the time of arrest. Green has no prior convictions. He was ordered to return to court on June 24th.
