A $5,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of beating a store clerk on Monday.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Darren Matthews, 23, with second-degree battery.
Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Monday at 7:06 a.m., police were sent to a business at 2800 S. Olive St.
Alexander said the clerk told police that when the man came into the store he was usually high on K2 and police used social media to try to identify the suspect and learn his whereabouts.
Matthews was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court June 10.
